Passed away peacefully at the Manoir Lac Brome on Sunday, January 21. Gladys was the wife of 63 years to the late Stanley Johnson and loving mother to Gordon (France), Carolyn (John), and Colin. She was the very proud grandmother of eight (Susan, Alice, Melissa, Erin, Noah, Brandon, Tyler, and Cody) and great-grandmother of 12.
Gladys was born in Plymouth, Devon England in 1921. She enlisted in the ATS, the woman’s branch of the British Army in 1941. She was in the same unit as Mary Churchill and attended Mary’s wedding to Cpt. Christopher Soames in 1947. After the war she came to Canada for what was to be a one year visit but ended up meeting her future husband and settled here for good.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at the Manoir Lac Brome for the loving care they gave our mother in her last days. A graveside service will be held in the spring.
She will be deeply missed.

My sincere sympathies to your family. I remember Gladys and Stanley very well when I attended BHS in the late 50?s. Keith will remember me I am sure. Keith and Lorne Lake each had new ?56 Meteor ?s and as teenagers at the time we were very envious. Both Stanley and Gladys fondly remembered.

So sorry to see the passing of our former neighbour. We send our sincerest sympathy to all her family. I still chuckle about the story of the death of your pet skunk. The Blvd. area was a great place to grow up. Lots of happy memories.
